Online store checklist

Setting up an online store is not difficult but it is definitely not easy like many adverts you saw on uTube, Facebook… Here is a simple checklist before investing time, money and energy in the project. It will require a lot of your time and commitment so plan it well! If you are well-prepared, once you start doing it, you can see your ROI.

Showcase your products: Showcase your products: Product photo: I have at least 2 angles and 1 close up shot of each product Product description: I know my products and have all the description text ready Stock management: I divide the products into categories and know the exact number of my stock Packaging and postage fee: I can pack my products safely for posting and have secured a good deal to ship my product Customer service: I have a policy to deal with refund, exchange, post-sale care

The money side of things: The money side of things: Price the product: I have priced my products, include all fee, mark up... Online payment: I know what payment system to use (Paypal, Stripe, Square...) Postage and logistics: I will sell my product worldwide / in the UK / local only and I have a procedure in place VAT: I understand and have discussed this with my accountant

Marketing: Marketing: I have set up an eNewsletter system I have a plan for referral scheme, ad... and other campaigns to bring traffic to my store SEO: I understand it takes time but I will invest in this
